Umzumbe Surf Camp Surf & Yoga Adventure
Looking to go on a tropical south african surfing adventure? with its warm indian ocean waters and lush tropical atmosphere, the umzumbe region on the south coast of kwazulu natal is one of south africa's lesser-known surfing meccas. the vibe: the umzumbe surf camp surf & yoga adventure is a 4-day experience filled with surfing, yoga, beach walks, volleyball sessions, bonfires, and plenty of good vibes. the package is aimed at beginner-intermediate surfers wanting to take their surfing journey to the next level through surf lessons, surf coaching, and surf-specific yoga classes led by in-house instructors. the surf: umzumbe surf camp is situated directly on the beach, with private and direct beach access from the property. there is a 'house wave' out front called inoras' which produces super fun left and right peaks suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers. a quick 5 minute walk up the beach from our camp is the stiebel rocks point break, a classic south coast right hand point break which can produce long rippable walls with the occasional barrel section. stiebel rocks is surfable on all tides and suitable for beginners - advanced surfers. accommodation: there are a few different accommodation options when staying at umzumbe surf camp. surfhouse dorm rooms: 5-bed shared bunk bed room in the main surf house, shared bathroom. beach view room: private room with a queen bed in the main surf house, shared bathroom. bamboo room: private room with a queen bed in the main surf house, shared bathroom. the banana bungalow: this is a private self-catering unit that sleeps 2-4 people and is separate from the other living areas but shares the property with other guests. the upstairs bedroom can be made as two single separate beds or one king size bed. the downstairs has a pull-out sleeper couch that sleeps 2 children or 1 adult comfortably. the kitchen is fully equipped. the shower is a private outdoor shower. the beach bungalow: this is a private self-catering unit that sleeps 2-5 people and is separate from the other living areas but shares the property with other guests. the upstairs bedroom can be made as two single separate beds or one king size bed. there is a single bed in the same room. the downstairs has a pull-out sleeper couch that sleeps 2 children or 1 adult comfortably. the kitchen is fully equipped. the shower is a private outdoor shower. food & beverage: we are self-catering. there are no food or beverages sold or available on site and there are no stores within walking distance. please bring groceries with you. local food stores close at 7:00 pm. getting to us: getting to umzumbe surf camp is easy. there is a shuttle company called “southern shuttles’ which runs daily trips from both king shaka airport and margate airport to umzumbe. enquire with us for more info on the shuttles the surf & yoga adventure at umzumbe surf camp is a truly incredible way to explore and experience the magic of the kzn south coast and is a big hit with young adventurous travelers.
